Grants & Upgrades
A Heartfelt Thank You to Mrs Pamela Fox
Mount Macedon Primary School would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Mrs. Pamela Fox, a valued local resident and respected figure across Victoria, for her incredibly generous personal donation of $50,000.00 to our school in early 2025. Mrs. Fox’s kindness and commitment to supporting local education have made a lasting impact, funding a number of projects that enhance our learning environment and enrich the experiences of our students.

Thanks to her generosity, we have seen significant improvements across the school, including the replacement of our timber boundary fence, now safer, fire-resistant, and more secure for our students. As well as exciting upgrades to our basketball court area, with new fencing, landscaping, and retaining walls. We are also thrilled to add a brand-new Gaga Pit, providing students with a fun and active space to play and connect.

Mrs. Fox’s donation has also helped bring new life to our much-loved Fairy Garden. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Woodend Men’s Shed for crafting the beautiful A-frame cubbies, the first installment in the 2025 Fairy Garden upgrade. A special mention goes to Kevin Whelan, proud grandparent of Daniel, Robert, Jimmy, and soon-to-be student Benny, for organising the project. These cubbies will soon be brought to life by our 2025 Year 6 students, who will paint them as part of their Leave Your Mark project, a wonderful opportunity to leave the school a little better than when they arrived. With the upcoming addition of an eco deck, this magical area will also serve as an outdoor classroom, continuing to grow and inspire future generations of Mount Macedon students.

We look forward to welcoming Mrs. Fox to Mount Macedon Primary School later this year to see firsthand the many upgrades her generosity has made possible. It will be a pleasure to show her how her gift has transformed our grounds and contributed to creating an inspiring, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students.

2025 Department of Veteran Affairs Flag and Indigenous Garden Grant
In 2025, Mount Macedon Primary School received a generous grant from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to support the upgrade of our flag poles and flags. Thanks to this funding, we now proudly display the Australian, Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander flags at the front of our school each day.

The grant also includes funding for improvements to the garden beds beneath the flag poles, enhancing the entrance to our school and creating a more welcoming and respectful space. As part of this project, we will also be upgrading several key areas across the front of the school: the yarning circle (also known as the Year 6 Rocks), the seating area under the gum tree, and the space between the Year 6 classroom and the STEM room.

These upgrades will improve both the appearance and functionality of our outdoor spaces, providing inclusive and engaging areas for students to gather, learn, and reflect. We thank the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for supporting our school in honouring Australia's history and creating a meaningful, well-maintained space for our community.

A huge thank you to the Glenister Family for their incredibly generous donation of time, skills, and materials. They have repaired and replaced our Yarning Circle (affectionately known as the Year 6 Rocks), created beautiful stone pathways, and finished the whole area with Tuscan topping. New Mud Kitchens Upgrade
Donated by the Whelan Family
We are thrilled to share that two brand-new mud kitchen have recently been installed in our outdoor play area generously donated by the Whelan family in 2025.

The Whelans are a long-standing part of the Mount Macedon Primary School community, with three children currently enrolled and a fourth due to start soon. Their strong connection to our school stretches across generations many of our families will remember Mrs Whelan, their grandmother, who served as Principal here at MMPS some years ago.
This thoughtful donation has already brought joy and creativity to our younger students, who are loving the chance to get messy, collaborate, and explore through imaginative outdoor play.

We are so grateful to the Whelan family for their generous gift and ongoing connection to our school.

In 2023, we were successful in securing $268,942 through Round 9 of the Department of Education’s Inclusive Schools Fund. The project is currently in the design stage, with a projected completion date set for 2025.
