First Aid
At Mount Macedon Primary School, your child’s health and safety is really important to us. Our staff are trained in First Aid and will always provide immediate care if a student becomes unwell or injured during the school day.

If your child needs medication at school – such as Panadol, antibiotics, antihistamines or creams – a Medical Authority Form must be completed by a parent or guardian. These forms are available from the office or can be downloaded here – DET Medication Authority Form. All medication needs to be in its original packaging, clearly labelled, and handed in at the office.

With springtime comes hayfever and allergies. Please remember that the school does not provide antihistamines, so if your child needs them, families will need to supply the medication along with the Medical Authority Form. Asthma can also flare up at this time of year, so please check that your child’s Ventolin, Epipen, or other medication is current and within expiry. A spacer should also be provided with puffers, as it makes them easier to use and helps the medication reach the airways more effectively.

As we head into the warmer months, a reminder that hats must be worn in Term 1 and Term 4 in line with our SunSmart policy. Sunscreen is available in classrooms, but if your child is allergic, please send along their own clearly labelled sunscreen that they can apply themselves, as staff do not apply sunscreen to students unless assistance is requested.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and well!
